Short version: the downloader runs in your browser and never uploads or stores your files. The site is free because it shows ads (Google AdSense), which use cookies — here's exactly what that means.

The download tool

When you download a VOD, clip or live stream, everything happens in your browser. The video is reassembled locally and saved straight to your device. It is never uploaded to us or stored on a server. There is no account and no login.

For technical reasons (browser security), the raw video segments are relayed through a stateless proxy that keeps nothing — it passes bytes through and forgets them. We don't log what you download.

Ads (Google AdSense)

vodfetch is free and has no paid tier. To cover hosting and keep it running, the site shows ads served by Google AdSense. Google and its partners use cookies and similar technologies to serve and measure ads, and — where you allow it — to personalize them.

We deliberately keep ads to standard, clearly-marked units: no pop-ups, no fake download buttons, no interstitials that block the tool. The download button is always the real one.

Your choices

In the EU/UK you'll see Google's consent prompt the first time you visit. There you can accept or decline personalized ads; declining still shows ads, just non-personalized ones. You can change your choice any time.

You can also review and control Google's ad personalization at myadcenter.google.com, and manage cookies in your browser settings. Google's own privacy policy explains how it uses ad data: policies.google.com/technologies/ads.

What we don't do

We don't sell your data, we don't run our own tracking analytics beyond what the ad and hosting layers require, and we don't ask you to sign in. The tool's job is to save your video and get out of your way.
