This is the honest version of a 'top games' page: a live snapshot, not a pretend-historical chart. Twitch's directory ranks categories by concurrent viewers, and that is exactly what you see here — fetched by your own browser at load time, refreshable any moment. Use it to see what the platform is watching right now, to pick a findable category to stream in (viewers-per-channel matters more than raw size), or to spot a spike as it happens. What this page deliberately does not show: 'most watched this month' averages — those need stored history, and we only publish history we measured ourselves. Our public snapshot archive is building exactly that; the methodology page explains how.

Are these live numbers or averages?

Live: the exact number of concurrent viewers per category at the timestamp shown. This page shows no averages and no history — only what Twitch reports right now.

Why does this differ from 'most watched games this month' rankings?

Monthly rankings are built from stored time-series (hours watched over a period). This page is a live snapshot instead. We're building our own public snapshot archive for honest period rankings later — see the methodology page.

Can I download streams from these games?

Any public VOD or clip from streamers in these categories works: paste its link (or the channel name) into the vodfetch downloader and save it as MP4, free and without a watermark.
